Gjorgji Povoviski — Director of Racquet Sports

Gjorgji Popoviski is the Director of Racquet Sports at GFS&T.

Originally from Skopje, North Macedonia, he won national titles across all junior age divisions and represented his country at the European Championships, Junior Davis Cup, and ITF tournaments, which helped shape the foundation of his playing and coaching style.

Gjorgji continued his tennis journey in the US at Alcorn State University and Alabama A&M University. Following his collegiate career, Gjorgji served as Assistant Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s tennis programs at Alabama A&M University. Alongside his university coaching, he has also worked across private clubs, resorts, and academies—running high-performance junior and adult programs while bringing the same level of professionalism and focus to each environment.

Gjorgji is dedicated to helping players reach their full potential. He takes a tailored approach to coaching, focusing on each player’s unique strengths and helping them build the confidence and skills needed to succeed both on and off the court.

Coach Alan is a USPTA/USPTR rated tennis professional and was recently named Head Pro at Great Falls Swim & Tennis. Alan is a veteran of several Professional Satellite circuits as well as a past Virginia State Champion. In over 35 years of teaching Tennis, Alan has successfully instructed and mentored sectionally-ranked and nationally-ranked players and has also successfully coached a number of USTA sectional/national level, championship teams.

Chume Bertrand – Tennis Professional

Chume Bertrand is an associated PTR and has taught junior tennis ages 10 and under for 15 years with Reston Association, and still currently teaches there. She has been actively playing in the GWTA league up until this past year due to a shoulder injury. Now that her shoulder has recovered, she is back in the swing of things!

Angie Wong — Tennis Professional, Pickleball Professional

Coach Angie is a USPTA-certified instructor with the ability to help players of varying skills improve their technique, footwork, strategy, and mental game. She has been coaching tennis to juniors and adults since 2018. She is also the head coach of a varsity girls’ tennis team at South Lakes High School. Angie is an active tennis player who has been playing tennis competitively since 2008 and captaining women’s USTA teams since 2011. She competed at the 3.0 National Championship in 2010 and 2011, 3.5 National Championship in 2015, and 4.5 Nationals Championship in 2019. She values every opportunity to be a mentor and role model working to promote a positive, safe, and player-centered learning environment.

“Zack loves teaching tennis and seeing the improvement of his students. In high school, Zack was the MVP on his tennis team in his junior and senior years and had the best win-loss ratio. Zack also played tennis at the University of Lynchburg.”
