Head Coach - Jay Wareham
Coach Jay grew up swimming in Northern Virginia. He went on to swim for Penn State - Altoona College, where he was team captain and two-time Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He's currently working on his Masters in school counseling at George Mason.
Coach Jay brings a wealth of experience to the Rapids, specializing in coaching both the younger swimmers at Nation’s Capital Swim Club, age 9-11, and also the Club's elite older swimmers, age 15-18. This will no doubt bring an added dimension to the Rapids 2019 experience, since we have many older swimmers who have grown up with the team.
Assistant Coach - Eric Owens
Eric is currently a rising senior at the University of Virginia, and is on the pre-medical track while majoring in Philosophy. Eric began his swimming career on the Rapids back when he was 9 years old, and has been swimming ever since. He swim while in high school, and is currently on the UVA Club Swim team. This will be Eric's third year returning as an Asst. Coach.
Assistant Coach - Jason Guidi
Jason is currently a rising sophomore at the University of Virginia, and is majoring in Economics. He starting swimming with the Rapids when he was 4 years old, and has been swimming ever since. This will be Jason’s second year returning as an Assistant Coach.
